1BDY
The One Body Project.
Our indivisibility, made visible.
The Project.
The One Body Project is an ongoing interdisciplinary art initiative exploring a radical yet simple recognition: we are not separate from one another.
Through photography, performance, poetry, film, immersive installations, and participatory public gatherings, the project makes our interconnectedness visible, tangible, and experiential.
Its artistic works invite audiences beyond the familiar boundaries of identity, nationality, religion, and perceived difference — into an encounter with our shared humanity.
Current Exhibition: 1BDY — One Body. One Future.
Conceptual rendering of the proposed 1BDY immersive exhibition.
In 2014, artist Alice Frank created a photographic series in which her own body became both Israel and Palestine.
One body. Two peoples. No separation.
The work emerged from a recognition: wherever violence strikes, its wounds extend beyond the individual, traveling through families, communities, and generations.
We cannot heal one half of a body by destroying the other.
1BDY brings this photographic series into an immersive public gallery exhibition, inviting visitors to experience our interconnectedness rather than simply contemplate it.
Through art, reflection, and dialogue, the exhibition invites a different relationship to conflict — one that recognizes the humanity of both peoples and the possibility of a shared future.
The Impact.
The One Body Project creates accessible artistic experiences that encourage empathy, dialogue, creative participation, and understanding across perceived differences.
Its exhibitions, performances, workshops, and public gatherings welcome audiences from diverse cultural, religious, and social backgrounds.
By creating spaces in which people can encounter one another beyond opposing identities, the project seeks to contribute to cultural understanding, meaningful connection, and the imagination of peaceful coexistence.
The Artist.
Alice Frank is a poet, performance artist, actor, and creator of participatory artistic experiences exploring human interconnectedness.
She is the author of My Real Name Is You and F.O.A. — Full On Arrival, with a third poetry manuscript forthcoming.
Her artistic background spans theatre, television, spoken-word performance, immersive installations, solo theatrical works, and interdisciplinary public programs.
For more than two decades, she has developed and presented creative experiences in cultural venues, retreat environments, and community settings throughout North America and internationally.
Her work brings together storytelling, humor, poetry, contemplative practice, and audience participation to explore what becomes possible when we recognize ourselves in one another.
